Cold email ROI calculator

What a list of verified work emails costs at each vendor's own published rate, including ours.

This tool only reads public DNS or runs in your browser. It does not spend verification credits.

Estimate only — real cost also depends on how many results come back verified. See actual plan pricing.

What this calculator compares

Vendors quote credits differently. Some bill every attempt. Some bill only a confirmed hit. Some expire unused credits every year. A headline "$X per month" is not a cost per sendable email.

This calculator uses the same methodology as our public comparison: cost per 1,000 found emails at each vendor's own cheapest published rate, checked on the date shown on the comparison article. We do not invent competitor numbers. If a vendor is missing, it is because we have not yet read a primary source we are willing to cite.

Plug in a monthly volume. The output is an estimate, not an invoice. Real cost also depends on how many rows come back verified versus catch-all.

How to think about "ROI" without lying to yourself

Cold email ROI is not "credits in, meetings out" on a single spreadsheet row. The hidden terms:

  • Bounce-driven reputation loss on the sending domain. See the bounce article.
  • Credits that expire if you buy a year of volume in January and send in September. Our credits do not expire. Several well-known vendors' credits do — read their pricing page, not a roundup blog.
  • Catch-alls billed as hits. If you pay for unconfirmed rows, your "cost per verified" is higher than the homepage tile.

Our own published rate is on pricing: one credit per confirmed mailbox, catch-alls and misses free.

Using the calculator well

  1. Put in the volume you will actually send, not the volume you told the board.
  2. Compare at the *cheap* end of each vendor (the comparison already does this — it is the generous reading of competitors).
  3. Open the vendor's pricing page from the alternatives articles before you buy. Pages go stale; our checked-on date is the claim.
  4. Run a free finder lookup on a domain you already know so "verified" means the same thing in your head as on their sales deck.

What this will not compute

  • Reply rate, meeting rate, or revenue. Those depend on offer, targeting, and copy.
  • Coverage ("do they find emails at tiny domains"). That is an accuracy/coverage question, not a price question.
  • Your sequencer bill. Instantly / Smartlead / HubSpot are separate.
