How Clearbit worked, and what changed

Clearbit built a company and person graph and sold it as an enrichment API: send a domain or an email, get back firmographics and contact data. Its Prospector and Connect products let salespeople look up work emails by company. HubSpot bought Clearbit in 2023 and rebuilt the product as Breeze Intelligence, priced and sold through HubSpot.

If you run on HubSpot and want enrichment inside it, that is a sensible place to land. If you came here because the old Clearbit email lookup stopped working, or you need emails outside HubSpot, you need a different tool.

How finding an email works here

You give a first name, last name and company domain.
We read the domain's MX record and generate the likely work-email patterns for that name.
We check each candidate against the receiving mail server and return the one that is accepted.

A verified result costs one credit. A catch-all domain, a miss, or a repeat lookup costs nothing. Results go to HubSpot through the HubSpot integration if that is still where you work.

What Clearbit did that we do not
