Paste an address you already have. Verification here is a mailbox check: we talk to the receiving server and stop short of sending mail. A syntax check or an MX check is not verification, and a catch-all that accepted a random local part is not a confirmed mailbox.
A confirmed mailbox is the only result we charge for. Invalid, catch-all, unknown, and checking the same address again are free. If the domain accepts every address, we will say so rather than calling it verified. - How do you verify an email address?
- We connect to the domain's mail server and ask whether that exact mailbox exists. The check stops before a message is sent, so the recipient does not get a test email.
- What happens on a catch-all domain?
- If the server accepts every address, we label the result catch-all and do not bill it. Invalid, unknown, and repeat checks are free too. No tool can confirm a specific mailbox on a domain that accepts everything.
